DONATE TO CHINA MISSIONS

china

Our entire staff here in China wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your prayers and support during 2011.   It is our hope that this will continue in 2012 so that we can continue to demonstrate the love of God through the preaching of the Gospel, the teaching of His word, and caring for the poor.  2011 was a very fruitful year in which hundreds of people heard the Gospel, and dozens believed!  The poor were cared for through providing food, clothing, wheelchairs, job opportunities and friendship.   Disciples were made through our church planting and our short and long term Bible training programs.  Opportunity was not just limited to learning the words of Jesus but also included opportunity to do the works of Jesus.

In 2012 all of this important work continues.  In faith (trusting God will provide the financial need) we have increased our commitment to distribute hundreds more wheelchairs as well as increasing our evangelistic presence amongst unreached people groups.  Even as I write this update, a load of wheelchairs is being delivered to a Tibetan area where we will travel next week to distribute them.

As for the Rosenwald family we do plan to relocate our family to the States in the summer of this year.  Todd will continue directing the ministry, traveling to China and other countries to oversee projects and nurture crucial relationships.  We are not quitting, but simply following the leading of God for our family.  There has never been a more crucial time to pray for us and continue your support.  Those of you who pray for and support this ministry have literally built the work alongside us and we look forward to being an outlet for your part in fulfilling the great commission and ministering to “the least of these.”

Here is a recent touching story from our ministry to the homeless:

Lao Tao’s story:

Lao Tao, a 45 year old business man from An Hui  province, came to Kunming full of dreams to expand his work in dried food goods.  Soon after arriving he was cheated out of thousands of dollars and lost everything.  The feeling of failure left him so ashamed he decided to live on the streets of Kunming rather than return to his farm in An Hui.  China is such a shame culture that this kind of scenario is actually quite common.

For the last five years Lao Tao has lived on the streets waiting and hoping for an opportunity to arrive that would help him save face and allow him to return home.  What happened was even better than that.  He had an opportunity to meet Christ and now his soul is saved!

For the last few years our team has held weekly feeding outreaches to the homeless living in Kunming.  At first Lao Tao was one of the most resistant, mistrusting person towards our team.   After seeing our teams servant attitude, love, and consistency his closed heart was opened.  He soon discovered our motivation was a supernatural one.

At our mega-Christmas outreach of 2010 Lao Tao gave his life to Christ.  Late in 2011 he was baptized.  Here is the picture from his baptism.  Now he is one of our biggest helps in our homeless outreach.  He is our point man for the weekly outreaches and he even helps to deliver food to the homeless who are handicapped and can’t make it to the feeding point.

The story keeps getting better.  Jesus is delivering him from his sense of shame and after five years on the streets Lao Tao is now planning on going home this Chinese New Year.  One of his main desires is to share the gospel with his wife and 18-year-old son.  Join us in praying for his family to join him in the faith.

Your prayers and financial investments help ensure our effectiveness in touching lives like Lao Tao.
